At KM Counseling Services, PLLC, we accept most major insurances. If you do not have insurance or prefer not to use it, you have the option to privately pay for sessions with one of our counselors or associates. Once we receive your insurance information, we will verify your benefits and inform you of any out-of-pocket costs before your first session, so you know what to expect.
Your initial paperwork is required to be completed at least 24 hours prior to your first appointment. After scheduling, the receptionist will send you a link to our secure portal where you can complete your paperwork online or by using the Client Portal tab above. The paperwork does not need to be printed. If you prefer to complete it in person, you can make arrangements with the receptionist to arrive early and fill it out before your session.
During your initial appointment at KM Counseling Services, PLLC, you will meet with your counselor for approximately 50 to 60 minutes. If you are bringing a minor, parents or guardians are expected to be present for the full duration of the session. The counselor will gather background information, discuss your current struggles, and go over important topics like confidentiality. They will also talk about your goals for future sessions and determine a plan for how often you will be seen moving forward.
In continued therapy sessions, your counselor will work closely with you to determine the best course of action to help you achieve your goals. Together, you'll explore different strategies and approaches tailored to your needs, making adjustments as necessary to ensure progress. Your counselor will provide support and guidance throughout the process, focusing on helping you work through challenges and move toward lasting positive change.
Discharge from therapy may occur once you’ve met your therapeutic goals or achieved maximum progress, and this decision will be made mutually between you and your therapist. You may also be discharged if there are frequent missed or late-cancelled appointments, or if you feel that the therapist is not the right fit for you. In the event of discharge, you will receive an email with referrals to other professionals who may better meet your needs.
